Dr. Deborah Haskins Presents- Breathing Through Brokenness: Grief and Loss Among Problem Gamblers in Recovery WEBINAR

February 7, 2019 EST @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

$20.00

Clock hours/Continuing Education Units: 2.0

Grief and loss affects every human being, including mental health professionals. Many persons experiencing problem gambling and gambling disorders also experience loss, including complicated grief experiences which are often challenging to heal. Gamblers often are escaping grief and loss experiences by escaping through gambling.  There is a “soul behind the high of gambling,” and mental health professionals can help gamblers and loved ones learn to breathe better through brokenness of grief and loss and manage their gambling recovery plans.

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Increase own comfort to explore grief and loss as a mental health professional.
  • Identify the influence of grief and loss experiences among problem gamblers and persons with a gambling disorder.
  • Identify 3 evidence-informed grief and loss approaches to integrate into problem gambling treatment and ongoing recovery management.
