Voluntary Self-Exclusion
For some, gambling might no longer feel like a game or be a way to have fun. Now with remote enrollment, the Voluntary Self-Exclusion (VSE) program offers one way for anyone struggling with gambling to set limits and take control.
By enrolling in VSE, participants voluntarily exclude themselves from casino gambling and sports wagering. A participant can choose how long they want to self-exclude. If participants gamble during an exclusion term, they agree to forfeit any money wagered, lost, or won.
There are three voluntary self-exclusion options in Massachusetts:
- Gaming Self-Exclusion
- Sports Wagering Self-Exclusion
- Dual Self-Exclusion
Enrollment is available in person at any state casino or via confidential, accessible online platforms. Trained professionals staff initial VSE enrollment meetings, provide resources, and hold regular check-ins throughout the exclusion term.
VSE participation is private and confidential. Under no circumstance is information shared with family members, employers, or clinicians.
Read more about these options in our Frequently Asked Questions.
